Guangzhou's Liwan prepares a spectacular light show in flower market

On February 5, Liwan Flower Market kicked off with a lighting ceremony at the South Archway. Intangible cultural heritage, dazzling flower lanterns, dynamic music, and more  merged into an audiovisual extravaganza, offering citizens a splendid collision of traditional flower markets and modern technology.

Visitors coming to the Liwan Flower Market can enjoy traditional lion dance performances, a fashion show featuring Cantonese opera costumes, savor Guangfu customs, interact with Li history in the poetry section, and awaken memories of welcoming spring while savoring the stories of Xiguan.

As the Spring Festival approaches, Liwan Flower Market has prepared an abundance of festive flowers, traditional goods, and a diverse array of cultural activities. You are warmly invited to join the beauty of Liwan and come to appreciate the flowers, shop, and be entertained, truly experiencing the traditional New Year atmosphere of Liwan.

Liwan Flower Market opens from February 6 (the 27th day of the twelfth month of the lunar calendar) and will continue until February 9 (Chinese New Year's Eve), lasting for a total of four days. During this period, the market will be open from 8:30 am to midnight on February 6, 7, and 8, and from 8:30 am to 2:00 am on February 9. The venue is located on Liwan Road 荔湾路(south to the intersection of Zhongshan 8th Road 中山八路, north to the intersection of Xihua Road 西华路). Citizens can take Guangzhou Metro Line 1/Line 8 to Chen Clan Academy Station, Exit D, or take Line 8 to Caihongqiao 彩虹桥Metro Station, Exit D.

Parking restrictions during Liwan Flower Market

To ensure order and safety at the flower market and to provide an enjoyable experience for citizens, the Liwan Flower Market Command Center advises the following: During the flower market event (February 6 to February 9), Liwan Road (from the intersection with Zhongshan Eighth Road to the intersection with Xihua Road) will be fully closed, allowing only pedestrians within the flower market area.

Parking restriction area

Liwan District encourages visitors to use public transportation to reach the flower market to avoid traffic congestion. If driving or riding non-motorized vehicles (including e-bikes and shared bicycles) is necessary, please follow traffic signs and the guidance of staff, park orderly in nearby motor vehicle parking lots or non-motorized vehicle parking areas, and refrain from parking haphazardly on roads, sidewalks, fire lanes, and other areas to avoid disruptions to traffic and ensure safety.
