Guangzhou releases China’s first policy to support disruptive technological innovation projects
Update: 2024-02-26     Source: GDToday

On February 20, China's first policies and measures to comprehensively support disruptive technological innovation projects were released in Huangpu district, Guangzhou. The aim is to explore the establishment of a new mechanism for the transformation of disruptive technological innovation, and to use disruptive and cutting-edge technologies to spawn new industries, new models, and new momentum.

This policy proposes that disruptive technological innovation projects settled in the Guangzhou Development Zone can receive up to 5 million yuan in support. At the same time, the policy is committed to creating a "tropical rainforest-style" innovation ecosystem and building a full-cycle integrated support system of "basic research - technological research - achievement transformation - industrialization and clustering."
"We will use the combination of 'research institute + innovation fund + industrial park + scientist group + special policy' to promote the deep integration of the innovation chain, industrial chain, capital chain, and talent chain," said Hong Hui, Director of the Science and Technology Innovation Bureau of Guangzhou Development District.
In recent years, Guangzhou Huangpu district has introduced a number of measures to form a cultivation system for industries such as biomedicine and integrated circuits, enhance independent innovation capabilities, explore mechanisms for the transformation of scientific and technological achievements, and create a demonstration area for the transformation of scientific and technological achievements.
