The demolition and repair work of the Lixinsha Bridge is currently underway, according to the latest news from Nansha District on February 25. The demolition plan has been reviewed and optimized by experts, and the scheme of constructing a temporary bridge connecting Sanmin Island has been approved. The bridge is expected to be completed and opened to traffic within seven to ten days.

Following the accident last week, the local housing and urban-rural construction department promptly organized inspection companies to conduct daily monitoring of the safety risks of the bridge's beams and piers caused by the collision.

The repair work of the Lixinsha Bridge consists of two stages: the dismantlement of damaged components and repair, with the current focus on the former stage. Inspection companies are monitoring the risk of beam collapse and pier collapse every day.

In addition to the original ferry station in Minjian Village, measures have been taken to ensure the smooth travel of local residents, including the construction of a temporary ferry wharf in Minxing Village, which was completed and put into use at 6 a.m. on February 23. More ferries and bus routes have also been added, along with the building of a temporary bridge.

Two ferries have been deployed at the ferry station in Minjian Village, operating from 6:30 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. Meanwhile, the temporary ferry wharf in Minxing Village has four ferries in operation from 6:30 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. Adjustments have also been made to bus routes Nansha No. 9 and Nansha No. 16, with an added temporary bus stop at Wenchuan ferry crossing for shuttle services.
