The 15th China Industry-University-Research Cooperation Innovation Conference kicked off recently in Beijing and two units of Guangzhou were awarded.

The Greater Bay Area Technology Innovation Service Center was awarded the China Industry-University-Research Cooperation Promotion Award, while Shida Weizhi Information Technology Ltd. was honored with the title of China Industry-University-Research Cooperation Innovation Demonstration Enterprise.

The award, supported by the Ministry of Science and Technology and the National Science and Technology Award Office, aims to promote the spirit of innovation, scientific spirit, and craftsmanship, as well as to promote the deep integration of industry, academia, and research to achieve high-quality economic development.

And the conference this year is to commended outstanding units and individuals in the above areas in 2023.

The Greater Bay Area Technology Innovation Service Center is the first high-level science and technology innovation service platform registered with the label "GBA", which refers to the area includes Guangzhou, Hongkong and Macao.

Based on its digital capabilities, the center hasachievements in various aspects such as scientific and technological innovation, industrialization of scientific and technological achievements, and the ecological construction of the whole chain of government-industry-university-research financial services.

The center is entrusted to manage a 200 million RMB fund for small and medium-sized enterprises ofscience and technology in Guangzhou and operates the first regional achievement transformation base in Guangdong Province. Besides, the center is planning to establish a research institute of the Greater Bay Areatechnology transfermation.

Shida Weizhi is an incubation enterprise of industry-university-research cooperation of South China Normal University. Its core team consists of high-level talentsof different fieldsfrom South China Normal University, Shenzhen University, and Chinese Academy of Sciences Aerospace Institute, specializing in surveying, remote sensing, geographic information and computer science.

Its product development focuses on three major directions: hardware, digital twin base platform, and space-time calculation engine. Withover 30 patents, it provides core technology and product services for the ubiquitous application of digital twins, and was named as a "seed unicorn" innovative enterprise in 2023 because of its significant achievements in scientific research and development.
