The 2024 World Children Development Forum kicked off with grandeur in Guangzhou, Guangdong on April 21, marking a significant milestone in global youth engagement.

Themed "We Love Science," the event, spearheaded by the All-China Youth Federation, garnered robust backing from prestigious entities like UNESCO and UNICEF. With over 190 delegates from 39 nations, including representatives from international organizations, diplomatic envoys, and youth leaders, the forum convened a diverse array of voices committed to advancing children's welfare worldwide.

Professor Shahbaz Khan, director of UNESCO Multisectoral Regional Office for East Asia, commended the opening ceremony of the 2024 World Forum for Children's Development in Guangzhou. He underscored UNESCO's collaboration with China in advancing science and technology initiatives and expressed gratitude for China's commitment to science and technology advancement. He called for collective efforts to leverage innovation for global sustainability and progress.

Sylvia Vardell, chairwoman of the International Board on Books for Young People, emphasized that the core mission of the organization is connecting children with books and fostering connections across diverse communities.  Importantly, they endeavor to reach children living in regions affected by conflicts, diseases, and natural calamities.

Against the backdrop of this momentous occasion, young delegates from China and beyond engaged in profound exchanges with esteemed scientists, delved into captivating scientific narratives, and embarked on futuristic literary voyages.

Notably, the collaborative unveiling of the Initiative of Inspiring the Children's Scientific Dreams underscored the forum's dedication to nurturing youthful curiosity and innovation. Moreover, the inauguration of the "Kids, Tell the World" Studio Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area station heralded a new era of global youth storytelling and cross-cultural dialogue.
