Middle Eastern tourism departments delegation visits Guangzhou Museum.

On June 28, a delegation of six senior officials from Middle Eastern tourism departments paid a visit to Guangzhou, with a mission to explore tourism resources in the GBA and push for more tourism partnerships between the two sides.

The delegation first visited Ruifeng Culture Co., Ltd, an integrated operator of urban culture, sports and tourism. At Ruifeng, they learned about the stereo systems that provides a quality audio and cinematic experience.

Omar Al Jaber, Acting Chief of the Tourism Development Sector at Qatar Tourism, pointed out Qatar is actively purchasing stereo facilities from Chinese manufacturers. "We intend to have a new collaboration with our partners here in China, especially for the biggest speakers for stadiums and theaters and also home theaters as well." said Omar in an interview with GDToday. He mentioned Omar has signed some contracts with Chinese suppliers. With quality products like stereo systems and LED screens, he is happy to see technical support from China facilitate major international cultural events scheduled in Qatar.

Later on the trip, representatives visited several historical and cultural sites in the city, including Huaisheng Mosque, Chen Clan Academy and the Guangzhou Museum, to look into the long preserved Lingnan culture.

Abbas Dashti, Assistant Undersecretary for Engineering Affairs of the Ministry of Information and Culture of Kuwait, who made his first trip to China, felt particularly enthralled how different cities in the GBA hold their own cultural characteristics, after visiting Macao, Zhuhai and Guangzhou. He shared with GDToday that he believes travel brings people together. “Travel allows people expose themselves to different cultures. It's so beautiful because one can see some resemblance in another culture.”

In our talk with Onur Gözet, Deputy Director General, Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the Republic of Türkiye, he said this trip to the GBA is bound to deepen tourism partnerships in a long run. "At the ministry indeed we have good cooperation with the Ministry of Culture and Tourism in China, for example, 2019 was the Turkish Culture Year in China." he elaborated, "I want our people to discover more here in the GBA." He also welcomed all Chinese friends and colleagues to Türkiye to witness the diversity and vibrancy of Turkish culture.
