Drawn by Feng Dazhong, an artist who does Claborate-style painting, and classical Chinese painting, the stamps reflect the cultural characteristics of the tiger, such as ambition, braveness, power and happiness. It continues the design concept of the fourth round of zodiac stamps, interpreting the connection between nation and family. Each set of stamps has a face value of 2.4 yuan (about $0.38).

As a long-standing folk cultural symbol, the Chinese zodiac, which is known as Sheng Xiao (生肖) in Chinese, is an important part of the traditional Chinese culture. Unlike Western astrology, the Chinese Zodiac is a rotating cycle of 12 years, with each year represented by an animal and its reputed attributes. Since 1980, China Post has issued special stamps of the Chinese zodiac every year.
Du Xinshan, director of the Guangzhou Publicity Department, delivered a speech at the ceremony. Du said that in the future, Guangzhou will further integrate Lingnan culture and stamps innovation, and create more famous intellectual property with a wide range of Cantonese styles. "We will use stamps as vivid carriers to highlight the city image and spread Guangzhou stories to all corners of the world," he said.
In order to welcome the Year of the Tiger, from January 5 to February 20, 2022, Guangzhou Post will hold the 2022 World Tiger Stamps Exhibition and Zhou Xiaohu's Works Exhibition at the Chimelong Safari Park. Additionally, a newborn baby Bengal tiger will meet with tourists at the park.
