Recently, posts of spectacular sunset views in Guangzhou have flooded social media platforms. The city's sky was tinted with pink, orange or red at dusk. The reflection of the sunset glow on the Pearl River and building windows makes up a dreamy scene that looks like a painting.
You may wonder where these stunning sunset photos were taken. Here are some recommended places to enjoy and capture the beauty of sunset in Guangzhou.
Canton Tower

The upper antenna mast of Canton Tower at the height of 488 meters is an incomparable location to get a panoramic sunset view of the city. Taking a ride at dusk on the ferris wheel at the 450-meter-high look-out platform is also worth a try.
If you would like to have a romantic night, having a dinner at the revolving restaurants in Canton Tower is an excellent choice, where you can enjoy exquisite western-style cuisine and remarkable sunset view at the same time.
Liede Bridge

Liede Bridge has been a popular place for photography in Guangzhou. From the bridge, you are able to capture the setting sun with the city's landmark buildings such as the Canton Tower, Haixin Bridge, Guangzhou International Finance Center and the CTF Finance Center.
It is advised that you get on the bridge early between 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. to occupy the optimal spot for shooting the sunset moments, but do not stay on the bridge for too long because of the busy traffic.
Baiyun Mountain

Baiyun Wanwang (白云晚望), which refers to the sunset view of the city from Baiyun Mountain, was listed among the Eight Sights of Canton as early as the Yuan Dynasty (1271-1368). Watching the sunset at a kiosk on the mountaintop provides you a sense of serenity and is distinguished from the view of modern high-rises observed at the Canton Tower.
Haizhu Wetland Park

The Haizhu Wetland Park offers an idyllic sunset scene with lush landscape. You can have a picnic with your friends and family members at the park and appreciate the beauty of the nature at dusk while enjoying snacks.
Apart from the above mentioned places, the Taigucang Wharf (太古仓码头) and Party Pier (琶醍) are also recommended to watch the sunset in Guangzhou.
