Shenzhen and Guangzhou lead Guangdong’s business environment

Guangdong released the 2022 Guangdong Business Environment Assessment Report on December 30th. According to the Report, Shenzhen and Guangzhou are in the first level.

Shenzhen and Guangzhou were also listed as the first national pilot cities for innovation in the business environment. They have made more significant efforts to break down barriers and provide better services for market entities to invest in the business and made essential demonstrations for constructing the business environment in the province.

The Report labeled Foshan, Dongguan, Zhuhai, Jiangmen, Zhaoqing, Huizhou, Zhongshan, Shantou, Qingyuan, and Zhanjiang as the second level, and Shaoguan, Maoming, Chaozhou, Yunfu, Meizhou, Shanwei, Heyuan, Yangjiang and Jieyang the third level.

Zhu Wei, Deputy director-general of Guangdong Provincial Development and Reform Commission, revealed that the evaluation team conducted an all-round evaluation of the business environment of 21 cities above prefecture level in Guangdong Province through online public information analysis, on-site secret visits, questionnaires and other methods, focusing on 19 indicators covering the whole life cycle of enterprises, such as starting enterprises, handling building permits, obtaining electricity, and registering property.

Zhu said that evaluating the business environment aims to promote reform and construction by evaluation to create a better development environment for market players. Now the gap between cities has been narrowing, and the leading and urging role of business environment evaluation is growing.

Currently, 18 cities in Guangdong have set up a leading group headed by prominent leaders to optimize the business environment comprehensively.
