On March 9, the enchanting 2024 Cherry Blossom Festival commenced at the Eighteen Arhats Mountain in Nansha District, Guangzhou. It is reported that the area for cherry blossom cultivation has been expanded, with more than 200 Guangzhou cherry trees planted in over five acres of cherry blossom gardens. Standing in clusters, the cherry blossom trees are adorned with vibrant and rosy blossoms, turning the whole garden into a romantic pink ocean.
"Seeing the preview of the festival online, I just couldn't wait to admire the cherry blossoms," said Mr. Huang, who came with his friends to take pictures, as he captured the beauty of the cherry blossoms through his camera lens, "However, it's a such a pity that today is a gloomy day, the scenery doesn't look well. I will come back again on sunny days."
Besides the romantic sea of cherry blossoms, the scenic area covers over three miles of continuous lush peaks and over 800 acres of forests, where various flowers bloom together, forming a colorful sea of diverse flowers. Thus, the landscape is even more magnificent than that in previous years, boasting a unique environment where visitors can admire the charm of flowers at every step.
In the cherry blossom garden, visitors wait in a long queue for the "Cherry Blossom Train", hoping to travel through the romantic pink flower sea. Mrs. Huang, who took the "Cherry Blossom Train" with her children, believed the experience was worthwhile. "The pink train is so beautiful, my children love it. And it moves at a slow speed. The blowing breeze at this temperature is very pleasant. Along the way, the beautiful scenery of the cherry blossoms truly creates a good vibe here."
There is also a culture zone for wedding customs during the cherry blossom festival this year. The first collective wedding ceremony in Dagang Town was held here, incorporating traditional rituals such as tying the hair clippings and holding hands, allowing citizens and tourists to witness this wonderful moment for the newlyweds. The event also included interactive activities such as "Vows of Cherry Blossoms" and exhibitions of wedding customs, adding a romantic touch to people's love stories with cherry blossoms.
Family entertainment projects are also a highlight of this festival. Inside the Happy Farm, children can feed the animals with their parents while enjoying delightful family time. Grandma Xiong, who lives nearby, came with her whole family. As the little kid played with the animals at the Happy Farm, she said, "The cherry blossom festival is bustling with people. We bring our child here to play and enjoy. He is so happy."
Additionally, there are also areas for stage performances and Hanfu experiences in the festival. When one walks through the delicate cherry blossom forest in Hanfu (traditional Chinese clothing), the harmonious beauty formed by the blossoms and the colorful robes is the perfect annotation of spring.
