To celebrate China's 15th National Games, Guangzhou has launched the Guangzhou Art Season, running from April 26 to August 10. This event showcases a vibrant mix of opera, dance, theater, concerts, and more, offering a unique "travel with performances" experience that highlights the city's rich cultural and tourism offerings.
A curated selection of masterpieces deeply rooted in Chinese culture will take center stage, including the dance drama "Peony Pavilion," the original Chinese-style musical "The Longest Day in Chang'an," and the suspenseful period stage play "The Code of The Dynasty," all of which present a rich classical Chinese aesthetic.
Highlighting Guangzhou's local artistry, performances such as "A Tale of Two Cities: Blood for Blood," "The Unspeakable," the puppet show "Thumbelina," and the Cantonese opera "The Summer Snow" are also set to captivate audiences.
