Based on Gaston Leroux's horror novel, the musical tells the story of the Phantom, who haunts the stage of the Paris Opera and subsequently falls in love with a beautiful young soprano.

Premiered in 1986, this award-winning musical has been performed in 183 cities worldwide in 17 languages. In 2015, the original English version of The Phantom of the Opera was staged in Guangzhou for the first time, with 40 consecutive performances at the Guangzhou Opera House. After eight years, the city's audiences will be able to enjoy a thrilling night of spectacle and romance again.

Ayanga, Liu Lingfei, and He Liangchen will play the "Phantom" in this version. The original creative team and technical team from London's West End and Broadway participated in the casting, rehearsals, choreography, and technical guidance throughout.

Rainer Fried, the executive director of this production, said that the role of the "Phantom" is always very difficult to cast, since it's vocally and dramatically demanding and complex emotionally, which requires actors with skills and charisma. "We are more than excited about the people that we have found."

In addition, the audience will see a 3-meter-diameter chandelier weighing 1,000 kilograms, more than 230 sets of costumes imitating costumes of European court theaters, 2,230 meters of curtains, and extremely realistic classical fountains, carved gates, and angel statues... During the nearly three-hour show, the set will be changed almost every five minutes.

It is reported that the first round of tickets for the show will be open for six performances. Tickets will be available from 11:00 am on February 26, with limited-time discounts, while student tickets will be on sale at the Guangzhou Opera House at 11:30 am on the same day, with 30 student tickets available for each performance. Liu Lingfei will appear at the student ticket sales site to send a surprise to the fans.
