From September to December, Guangzhou Opera House will launch its "Pure Melody" series, featuring several classical music concerts and its first Southern Chamber Concert series. Chinese violinist Ning Feng, Argentinian pianist Martha Argerich, the Kodály Quartet from Hungary, as well as many famous musicians, will hit the stage in Guangzhou.
Ning Feng plays the Complete Bach Sonatas & Partitas for Solo Violin
Chinese violinist Ning Feng will present the Sonatas and Partitas for Solo Violin composed by Johann Sebastian Bach on September 19 and 20.
Ning was the first student at the Royal Academy of Music to ever receive a 100% grade for his final recital and was awarded first prize in the Paganini Competition. Now he holds the post of violin tutor at the Hochschule für Musik Hanns Eisler Berlin.
Dmitry Masleev's piano recital
On November 2, Russian pianist Dmitry Masleev will stage some classical pieces of Russian music. Audiences will enjoy the masterpieces of Sergei Rachmaninoff, Mily Balakirev, Cesar Cui and Modest Mussorgsky, as well as Franz Liszt's Rhapsodie espagnole (Spanish Rhapsody).
Southern Chamber Concerts series
From November 3 to 5, the Guangzhou Opera House will hold its first Southern Chamber Concert series. Eleven artists, including Argentinian pianist Martha Argerich, British cellist Steven Isserlis, flutist Gili Schwarzmanm, and Greek pianist Theodosia Ntokou will provide audiences with splendid chamber music concerts. Furthermore, Argerich's daughter Lyda Chen-Argerich and her grandson David Chen will also participate in the Festival.

Johannes Brahms's masterpieces presented by Akiko Suwanai
At the age of 18, Japanese classical violinist Akiko Suwanai became the youngest winner of the International Tchaikovsky Competition in 1990. From November 4 to 5, she will perform Johannes Brahms's Sonata for Violin and Pianoat the Guangzhou Opera House.
Concert by the Kodály Quartet
On November 18, the Kodály Quartet from Hungary, one of the oldest and most influential string quartets, will perform representative pieces by Joseph Haydn, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart as well as Franz Schubert.
Cello concert byLi-Wei Qin
Chinese-Australian cellist Li-Wei Qin will present a concert combining Chinese and Western classical music. Qin won the Silver Medal at the 11th International Tchaikovsky Competition in 1998, and First Prize at the 2001 International Naumburg Competition in New York. He has collaborated with many of the world's top orchestras, such as the London Symphony Orchestra, Los Angeles Philharmonic, and London Philharmonic Orchestra.
