Featuring a curated selection of ten films from prominent Dutch filmmakers, the festival showcases a range of themes, from inspiring youth stories to poignant social commentaries. Highlights include the coming-of-age dramas "Bigman" and "Lioness," which focus on young protagonists overcoming challenges. For deeper reflections, "Rocco & Jules" and "Last Call" examine love and friendship among the elderly.
The festival also addresses marginalized communities with films like "Ok thanks bye" and "Kiddo," highlighting the issues faced by vulnerable groups and children. Animation fans will enjoy "Knor," the first Dutch stop-motion feature, which combines creativity with storytelling in a unique visual style.
These films reflect the Netherlands' rich cultural heritage and commitment to diversity, offering insights into the joys and challenges of everyday life while representing the forefront of Dutch cinema.
