More than one third of shoes produced in China are from shoe factories in the Pearl River Delta which is a great base of shoe production in China. The statistics issued by the China Shoe Association show that each year factories in Guangdong produce 3 billion pairs of shoes, about half of the total output in China, that is 6 billion pairs amounting to about 60% of the world output.

Zhanxi Lu

Wholesale markets for shoes in Guangzhou are located around the Guangzhou Railway Station. On Huan-shi-xi Lu and Zhanxi Lu collect 12 large shoe markets and wholesale centers for shoe materials where shoes of various prices are available in more than 3 thousand stores. It has become China's largest collection and distribution center for shoes with products being  exported to Southeast Asia, the Middle East, South America and Russia.

Gaodixi Jie

Gaodixi Jie stretches from Qiyi Lu in the east to Jie-fang-nan Lu in the west, covering 130 meters. It is the core of Daxin Street which, for the past 100 years or so, has developed into a professional shoe market that mainly deals with shoes from Guangdong's Zhongshan and Shunde cities, Fujian, Zhejiang and Taiwan Provinces, and the Republic of Korea. The daily business volume reaches hundreds of thousands of Yuan. Now, it has become the largest wholesale market for shoes in Southern China.
