Located in the south of Baiyun Mountain and rebuilt in recent years, Peach Blossom Valley is a prominent scenic spot in the Mingzhu Tower tourism area which has a feature peach flowers blossoming. Peach Blossom Valley was first built in 1960 as a famous scenic spot. Legend has it that a cynical person in ancient times once visited Baiyun Mountain and was attracted by the picturesque scenery and decided to live as a hermit here. He was keen in planting peach trees, and soon the mountain was covered with peach blossoms, thus the name "Peach Blossom Valley" came into being. Since Taohuajain had lost much of its elegant demeanor with the wear and tear of time, the Guangzhou Municipal Government appropriated 5 million yuan, in May, 1995, to glamorize this scenic spot according to its original geographical features.
Peach Blossom Valley covers and area of more than 40,000 square meters, holding more than 4,000 peach trees of more than ten breeds. It is a Chinese-style garden with beautiful landscape modeled on Tao Yuanming (a great writer of Jin Dynasty)'s work The Story of Peach Blossom Valley. There are scenic spots like Bonanza Springs, Children R Us, Pebble Beach, Coyly Pavilion, and Peach Blossom Island. Peach Blossom Valley is permeated with the fragrance of peach flowers, attracting shutterbugs from faraway places.
