During the spring festival golden week (Feb.15 to 21), the total sales revenue of Guangzhou's key business enterprises reached RMB 2.94 billion, representing a rise of at least 10% over the same period of last year, said Guangzhou Municipal Commission of Commerce.
In Tianhe Road, Beijing Road, Baiyun New Town, Zhujiang New Town and other commercial districts, a series of activities covering retailing, entertainment, dinning, tourism were launched to promote Guangzhou as an international and trendy city for residents and visitors.
Sales campaign such as shopping festivals, special purchases exhibitions and discounting activities were held in a number of shopping malls, whose products including clothes, home appliances, jewelry, nourishment and tea are highly appreciated by consumers.
Particularly, the total sales income of seven traditional shopping malls including Grandbuy, Friendship Store, Mopark and Teemall, reached RMB 440 million. The sales of another 116 food market reached RMB 2.4 billion.
