A modern communication network has been established in Guangzhou and the city tops Chinese cities in terms of telephone density. Communication services include mobile communications, voice services, cable systems, and Videotex services. Guangzhou also owns one of China's three International Communications Gateways. Long-distance telephone exchange is basically automatic, and the equipment can directly access to more than 1,700 domestic cities and towns and more than 200 countries and regions.
